Cozy Up

Sometimes you just need a place to retreat from reality. A place that is comfortable, is cozy and is warm & fuzzy. This is my place even though it's at my friends house. I am so happy to have a friend that lets me escape there. It's a good place for a nap, a good read and just plain unwinding (untill the kitty appears). Thanks for sharing with me.

Poole it together for TOM

This coming week is the finals in the Miami Super Star competition. My cousin Tom is one of the finalists and will be singing "Lay Down Sally" by Eric Clapton. We need all the votes for him to be the winner. We all know in the family that he already is a winner, but we want the country to know it as well. http://www.miamifly.net/superstar/index.php

Blog
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

For other uses, see Blog (disambiguation).
"Blogger" redirects here. For the blog publishing system owned by Google, see Blogger (service).
A blog (an abridgment of the term web log) is a website, usually maintained by an individual, with regular entries of commentary, descriptions of events, or other material such as graphics or video. Entries are commonly displayed in reverse chronological order. "Blog" can also be used as a verb, meaning to maintain or add content to a blog.
Many blogs provide commentary or news on a particular subject; others function as more personal online diaries. A typical blog combines text, images, and links to other blogs, web pages, and other media related to its topic. The ability for readers to leave comments in an interactive format is an important part of many blogs. Most blogs are primarily textual, although some focus on art (artlog), photographs (photoblog), sketchblog, videos (vlog), music (MP3 blog), audio (podcasting) are part of a wider network of social media. Micro-blogging is another type of blogging which consists of blogs with very short posts. As of December 2007, blog search engine Technorati was tracking more than 112 million blogs.[1]

Standing Tall

This is INCREDIBLE! The picture was taken in 1918. It is thousands of men preparing for war in a training camp at Camp Dodge in Iowa . This is a definitely a true gift from some of our grandfathers. Enjoy!Imagine how long these 18,000 men had to stand in that one spot to set it up correctly.Don't you just love the detail by the change of hats to no hats, some with heads bent down, some with faces shining, and slightly different colors of uniforms etc? This took an enormous amount of planning, patience, and positioning and a determination to send their message to us, yes even to the world. It speaks loud and clear.
I have a picture of my Dad's Father in the same kind of uniform. However, being that he was never in Iowa, there is need for me to try and look for him in this picture. God Bless America.

FrontRunners

This past week we joined the throngs of people to ride the new commuter rail train FrontRunner from SLC to Ogden, UT. For the first few days of operation it was tested FREE of charge to get people used to the train. Walt & I, Colleen along with Dave & Donna rode the train to Ogden and enjoyed dinner at "Karen's Cafe" before riding back to SLC. We rode the TRAXX to and from the park & ride to the train hub to say we'd tried out the current mass transit system here in the Salt Lake-Ogden area. It was a very very smooth ride taking abt 1 hour stopping 6 times. The passenger cars have 2 decks with the upper deck having plug ins for computers, razors, hair curlers, phones etc that commuters might use. The upper deck also has tables (horizontal spacse) to work on while you are traveling.

25th street in Ogden not only has lot of pubs, cafe and vacant buildings, they have antique stores galore. Kris, I think of you every time we go to an Antigue store or even see one. How fun it would be to browse one of them with you.
