Fall into things to do...

Oh my goodness - Fall is a wonderful time of year. All the colors coming alive. Harvesting of wonderful vegetables and weather changes. Only problem, my head loves to view the weather changing, but my body doesn't like it. It makes me feel like a slug that aches. I don't feel like doing ANYTHING when it's gloomy outside. One thing I did get done though, was assemble the scrapbook page kits that I bought last weekend. That is why I bought several kits. They tell you exactly what to do to put it together. On Saturdays at FOR EVERY SCRAPBOOK in Lindon you can pick up extra kits during their buy one get one deals. We also went to be of assisstance at some friends of ours (Dave & Donna with the Airstream). Now they are having trouble with their trailer furnace not staying lit.

Walt & Dave worked on it for hours - to no avail. While Donna house cleaned, I sat outside reading a book and then some sitting inside looking at the latest vs. of Better Homes & Gardens. I love that mag as it inspires me to cook and deco some. So, we enjoyed a casserole and some acorn squash for dinner. Then I saw Sondra's post for the apple pie and that would have been great for dessert. Hmmm - we didn't have any apples though. What a great idea - freeze your pie filling and do it on the fly.
Tomorrow it's back to work - good thing I like my job. This coming week we are changing out some old fixtures and replacing them with new ones in the checkstand impulse area at a few local stores. Tomorrow I'm going to be in Clearfield, Tues in Tooele and Thur in Brigham City. Won't that be nice to see the leaves changing in Sardine Canyon...

Eating bright colored things

The "No's" in your life can't argue with what the doctor says :-)
Recently I went to the doctor for my yearly physical. My blood pressure was high, my cholesterol was high, I'd gained some weight, and I didn't feel so hot. My doctor said eating right doesn't have to be complicated and it would solve my physical problems. He said just think in colors... Fill your plate with bright colors... greens, yellows, reds, etc. I went right home and ate an entire bowl of many of those colors.... And sure enough, I felt better immediately. I never knew eating right could be so easy.

Friday night supper club

Many Friday nights we've gone out to dinner with our friends. Years ago it was with Lynn & Judy, but they now live in Walla Walla, WA and it's a bit hard to get together since our Lear jet is out for repairs. We now go with Dave & Donna U. Sometimes my sister Colleen comes along. She did this time. We go to a place in Midvale called the Last Outpost. This was a work party to discuss how Dave & Walt were going to weld the frame on the U's Airstream. Their frame developed a break on a recent trip to Yellowstone. They worked on it over the weekend and were able to fix it. The real test will be when it's taken out on the open road. It's the cutest thing ever so I hope the weld job does the trick.

Tomato tree

Did anyone have a lot of success with their tomato crop this year? Our was dismal. We so far have 10' high vines, with 2 red ones and 8 green ones. THAT's it?
Today we put together "General Bone E. Part" as part of our Halloween decorations. He'll be a bit chilly for a bit, but the slippers will keep his feet warm anyway. He's going to sit out side guarding the place. He's made up of PVC parts that just snap together - no glueing. That way he's easy enough to store.

Sweet on flowers

I am amazed that my sweetpeas are still blooming. The African violets make a nice contrast to them. Too bad there isn't a scratch n' sniff on the computer so you could smell these.

Worn out program-aholic

I just hate being so busy that I can't get on here as much as some people update their blogs. I have so much to add yet by the time I get home from a 10-12 hr day (some of that has been 4-6 hrs of driving) I am exhausted. And with the daylight ending way toooooo soon, I just can't seem to be motivated enough to get on after dark. Ugh. I have to confess, I am a NEW TV program aholic. All the new shows on TV entice me to veg after dark. But I still want to do blogging too.

Getting my feet wet

This weekend I'm in the Seattle area for an all girls weekend get a way with my family members. It has been so nice so far - sunny and low 70'sF. Colleen & I helped Dad sort of a little of his storage unit. Mom had left for the gathering already with another of our sisters (Janet). The gathering is at a time share condo 1 3/4 hr N. of Seattle near the Canadian border. One thing we did last year was a morning of yard sales. Looking forward to more of them this year. So if you don't see anything new on here from me, it's because I won't have access to a computer till Monday. But I'll post then. Have a good weekend.

Pretty as a daisy

Yesterday I used the gift my Mom gave me for my birthday and had a spa pedicure done. I not only love the feel of someone massaging my feet, I love the idea of painted toenails. I used to go to a gal in Idaho, but not only did we move back to SLC, but she passed away. She was VERY good at what she did and was very reasonable too. I happened across a Vietnamese lady who I think is equally as good at what she does. My favorite color is apple red. She then paints a flower on the big toe. This time it's a daisy.
