Painting the roof
With the great weather we've been having in SLC this fall, it was good time to recoat the roof at my sisters. Colleen & Walt took turns rolling the goo on. They got one coat on before a fall storm rolled in.
Buying in the rain
Even though the weather was drizzly, it didn't dampen the mood for a yard sale. I drove 26 miles to the one that Stacy & Kristy had. Erika was there too. These lovely ladies are part of a CAMPBELL Clan in Utah. What fun it was to meet Stacy & Erika. I had met Kristy before. This sale was helping Kristy clean out her STUFF as she & her hubby are moving to England in early Dec. He got a job with a Formula One design company. Things are different in England so getting rid of some excess stuff is cleansing. The weather wasn't all that cooperative, but the company was good - ME. I love garage sales. I picked up a down comforter in a duvet cover, an antique train case with pics decopaged on it, a clamp on light good for scrapbooking in a darker corner, a puppet for our pesty puppy and some scrapping supplies. I think of it as a huge score. Thanks Ladies.

Mum's the word
When I was in Birch Bay in Sept at one of a number of garage sales, I bought these mums for $1.00. Unfortunately, I forgot them in my cousins car. Shows you how badly I needed that stem of flowers. I had forgotten all abt them. Yesterday in the mail was this box from this cousin. I couldn't even imagine what she would be sending me. To my surprise there were my flowers in a "Daisy" can. That was something I hadn't bought. She thought I needed it now. She'd had it for a year - picked it up at a give-away session at a family gathering a year ago. How cute! I just love it.
Tabs and Friends
Today I took my friends daughter, Kandy, to the airport. This is Kandy's 2nd time on a plane. But the 1st time by herself. She'll be 31 in Nov. She is going to visit Judy (my friend) in Walla Walla for a week. I am so excited for them as they need to need each other. Kandy has 3 boys all under the age of 13 and hasn't ever been away from them. She NEEDS a break and her Mom stepped up to the plate and sent for her. The boys will be staying at home with their Dad for some bonding moments.
After I dropped her off, I went down to the Ronald McDonald House in SLC to turn in our 2 1-gal baggies of pop can tops. They turn them in for $$$$ that is used to make minor repairs, buy some extra goodies for the guests or just plain do nice things that the regular budget would allow.
Next I went over to another friends house to tend to the stay at home birds and cats. Connie is in Idaho visiting her Mom who at 79 recently had a hysterectomy to stave off uterine cancer. She is doing fine, just needs help getting back on her feet again.
On the way to Connie's I missjudged a curb and tripped going down with a thud. Landed on the heel of my palm and a bruise is already forming. I stopped by the Chriopracter and got an adjustment. I can tell the dif already. So much for living up to my childhood nickname - Grace...

Fall into things to do...
Oh my goodness - Fall is a wonderful time of year. All the colors coming alive. Harvesting of wonderful vegetables and weather changes. Only problem, my head loves to view the weather changing, but my body doesn't like it. It makes me feel like a slug that aches. I don't feel like doing ANYTHING when it's gloomy outside. One thing I did get done though, was assemble the scrapbook page kits that I bought last weekend. That is why I bought several kits. They tell you exactly what to do to put it together. On Saturdays at FOR EVERY SCRAPBOOK in Lindon you can pick up extra kits during their buy one get one deals. We also went to be of assisstance at some friends of ours (Dave & Donna with the Airstream). Now they are having trouble with their trailer furnace not staying lit.
Walt & Dave worked on it for hours - to no avail. While Donna house cleaned, I sat outside reading a book and then some sitting inside looking at the latest vs. of Better Homes & Gardens. I love that mag as it inspires me to cook and deco some. So, we enjoyed a casserole and some acorn squash for dinner. Then I saw Sondra's post for the apple pie and that would have been great for dessert. Hmmm - we didn't have any apples though. What a great idea - freeze your pie filling and do it on the fly.
Tomorrow it's back to work - good thing I like my job. This coming week we are changing out some old fixtures and replacing them with new ones in the checkstand impulse area at a few local stores. Tomorrow I'm going to be in Clearfield, Tues in Tooele and Thur in Brigham City. Won't that be nice to see the leaves changing in Sardine Canyon...
