As yesterday was our 33rd wedding anniversary, I feel I should do this too.
What is his name: Walter Huber

How long have you been married: 33 years - 2/22

How long did you date: 2 years

How old is he: 18 years older than me

Who said I love you first: hmmm I can't remember that far back. But I want it to have been him.

Who is taller: he is by 8"

Who eats more: Duh, that is a no brainer - ME

Who can sing better: Since he hasn't sung anything since he was in school glee club, I'd have to say me here as well.

Who is smarter: We are equally as smart in our own ways

Who pays the bills: I don't like to, but I do

Who does the laundry: Unless I want everything to be gray or pink, I do

Who mows the lawn: I do when my sister isn't. Walt did once. But we didn't like the way he did it.

The Key

Nothing happens to us without purpose. what we do because of it, what we do about it, is the key to who and what we are.

Lonely Pie Eats

Sometimes eating alone can be a good thing (you get to eat all the pie yourself. But on the other hand it can be very lonely - there's no one to share the experience with. I got this pic of the blog of a friend. I hope she doesn't mind. But I just loved this pic.

Antiques, Feathers & Friends

Yesterday we went out and about with Dave & Donna as it was too nice a day to be couped up inside. First we went to an antique show at the Weber County Fairgrounds. Kris, I know you wold have loved it so I put you in my bag and took you with me. You showed me so many fun things and I saw so many of the things I have in MY storage already. I found a box of skeleton keys but at $2 ea, I just couldn't create a whole ring of keys like yours. So, I just picked up a couple. One looks like it would open a little box and the other to a door like you use.

There were so many little cases that store things that I would of loved to have had, but for the life of me I just couldn't think of where to put them in my trailer.
The journey continued down a road filled with potholes but after navigaing them cleverly, we ended up at the Farmington Bay Wildlife winter resting area.
This is a place bald eagles have been seen resting. The day was perfect. Sunny, somewhat warm (45Fish) and no wind. I have never seen a bald eagle that close - and - so many of them.
There were as many people out photographing these magnificent birds as there were birds. Everyone was capturing the fishing activities, the fighting over the catches and the fluffing of feathers. .
We can always count on our activites with Dave & Donna filling the day completely. They are like Energizer Bunnys, they just keep going and going - right on past sunsets most of the time.
It was a spectacular way to end the day for sure.

Really living!

While catching up on my blog reading, I read this quote and stole it from a friend who stole it from a friend who was inspired by the life and teachings of Marjorie Hinkley. I post it here for your reading pleasure. It reminded me of how important it is to really live life the way we know we should, and of how important the little things we do each day as a mother and a friend really are. Thanks Rachel.
"I Don't want to drive up to the pearly gates in a shiny sports car, wearing beautifully, tailored clothes, my hair expertly coiffed, and with long, perfectly manicured fingernails. I want to drive up in a station wagon that has mud on the wheels from taking kids to scout camp. I want to be there with grass stains on my shoes from mowing Sister Schenk's lawn. I want to be there with a smudge of peanut butter on my shirt from making sandwiches for a sick neighbor's children. I want to be there with a little dirt under my fingernails from helping to weed someones garden. I want to be there with children's sticky kisses on my cheeks and tears of a friend on my shoulder. I want the Lord to know I was really here and that I really lived." -Marjorie Hinckley

Bonding Moments

Today I helped out my sister in law(Kate) learn some new to her things on their computer. I also helped her learn how to download pics she's taken on their camera that is new to them too. We went to Costco to buy a whole bunch of fresh & frozen fruits, some oatmeal and a couple of books off the Oprah Book Club list. The Secret & The New Earth. Kate has really been listening to Oprah abt going GREEN in their every day lives as well as eating more healthy. We also bought pedometers as she and I are going to go walking together even though we live 300 mi apart. We'll see how long we can stick with a walking regime. Tonight we put aside our thoughts of being healthy and went for an old family recipe "cheese spatzles". They are home made noodle dumplings latered with shredded swiss cheese topped with fried (in BUTTER) onions. YUMMM It' a family favorite though.

Bag Tagged

Here is what I have in my bag at the moment. I keep it to under 1 or 2 lbs so I don't get a back ache. Check out the variation in techY things. An OLD cell yet a new thumb drive. Stamps to mail letters from afar, a passport to everywhere, pen and notepads to write interesting things down when I come across them. And of course, the preverbial collection of receipts. Ok, now I have figured out what this "YOU have been TAGGED" is all about. So the challenge is on to all you out there - you have been TAGGED.

Does anyone have any Mexican friends who know how to mke Jamonsillo? It's a mexican candy made with real milk, brown sugar & nuts. I had a bar recently and would love to know how to make it.

All white now

Hi everyone... it's been a long long time since I've been online. I am back in the online world again. I have had so much dental work done in the last 5 wks. 3 rootcanals with posts, 6 crowns, 1 extraction, a full cleaning and a full set of xrays. OMG. But I look so much better and feel so much better too. I have missed being online like you wouldn't believe. I felt like Kristy - someone with out all her stuff. How is everyone liking all the snow this year. Burrrr but I do love the white stuff. It is so pretty.

Silent Night

It's been hard to get online lately but I did get some time now. Gene has been having some health problems. Christmas Eve was a cold windy Silent Night. Kate & Walt created a tree to put the family heirloom candles on. The winds swept thru the area to keep the flames flickering brightly. We only had 5 lit out of nearly 50 that was available. Gene was able to look out the window to watch the lighting. Our Christmas gifts to each other was being able to spend some time together shivering under the nearly full moon.

We decorated a bush outside with some ornaments that danced in the wind. We were able to get Gene some meds to lighted up his pain and then we waited.

We moved closer to what we thought would be warmer temps for everyone to Gold Rock Ranch on Ogilby Rd. NOT. The temps are just as cold and windy. We are together and thats all Walt asks for right now.

Gene got over the sore throat but ended up with back troubles which make him unable to walk very well. Pray that the cancer isn't affecting his back and the troubles are just a pinched nerve.
It's time consuming to post too many pics right now. We are suffering thru getting online via the phone and that is worse than dial up. At least it is. Hugs to all and Happy New Year.
