Things I love this week

With spring in bloom there are many things to love:
Longer days of sunlight
Cool nights that are warm enough to have the windows open
Flannel sheets that smell of lavender & cotton (thanks to fabric rinse in the washer)
Sun being higher in the sky of blue
Mountains with snow in them sticking up so high in the BLUE sky
Dafodils so yellow next to greening grasses
The smell of fresh cut grasses
The freedom of travel (last week I was in Pinedale, WY and this next week I'll be in Powell, WY)
The great people I work with who offer me the opportunity to travel
New babies in the family, weddings upcoming
Did I mention alreay - Flannel sheets
And best of all - ALL of you who read this.

Stay at Homes in Spring

Today I just needed a little time for myself. So, I went to my friend Connie's house to feed her "stay at homes". She is off visiting her family in Rigby and had to leave all the birds, the cats and the ginnea pig at home. Taking 3 dogs to see the fam is chore enough. I go over and feed and talk to those left at home. Quirky to me - but they all seem to know who I am and chatter up a storm while I'm there. It's such a great spring day too. Lots of forsythia in bloom now. We even brought in a few cuttings of some for color in the house.
Another thing on my plate today is laundry. I'm going to be traveling for the better part of the next 2 weeks so need to get a few things in order. I'm headed to parts of desolate Wyoming to work. I hope to post from there. We'll see.

Tea Time

My sister Colleen has our Grammy's collection of Franciscan Ivy dishes. She's been adding to them over the years. They are pretty expensive when you can find them. Recently, she was at the DI and found this nice teapot with out a lid. Scored at $1. On Ebay just the lid alone is $110. A teapot with a lid runs for abt $240. You can't get a better deal than that.

Treasures and Friends

Saturday we went out with the U's again. They take us places that we might have thought of going to right then. First was to the Star Mill Antique's in American Fork. It's been a long time since we've been there but always a nice trip. It always amazes me to see things that I have used in my life time at an ANTIQUE store. Does that make me ANTIGQUE or just UNIQUE? Both probably.
After that we stopped off at Cabela's for some more serious browsing. That in itself should be a whole day trip. But since we had an evening with TRUDY to go to, we had to cut our trip to sports Heaven short.

Our evening with Trudy included Margie and her husband Dick. Our small little party was perfect company catching up on old times and current ones too. In the pics =Donna in the green Tneck, Trudy in the pink top, Karen in the turq and Margie on the right. Thanks Trudy for the pizza.

Things to LOVE this week

Today I was delivering some things to a friend and her yard was BLOOMING with little blue Glories of the Snow flowers dotted with a few white Snow Drop ones. These are the kind that are abt 2" tall. It was so beatuiful to see some color in the otherwise 'not awake yet' world of ours.

So, this weeks things to love:
Little spring flowers
Snow on the mountains - not in the yard
Easter candy at half price
New little babies - my friends Angie & Doug had the 2nd child this past week - welcome Leah Smith.
Traveling to Hyrum (near Logan, UT) for my job
Homemade rolls (my sister Patty sent me their family recipe)
and most important - all the blessings I have received by just being alive

Happy Easter

To day is a wonderful day. The sun came out. The birds are flying everywhere stretching their wings. My friends Angie & Doug have just brought a new baby girl - Leah. The neighbors had their annual Easter egg dye/hunt in their back yard. The churches are full of songs and full hearts. The first flowers of spring are blooming. And people are sharing all these experiences with their family and friends. Blessings on all of you.

Things to love

Like everyone else who says "my how time flys", I too can't imagine where the week has gone. It seems like just yesterday I was on here posting abt the things I love. But a whole week has gone by and I didn't post anything. I can tell you though, that I have been reading lots of blogs. There are some that are very amazing. Like my friend Sondra's childrens blogs. They are very creative and can do a better job at posting than I can. Kudos to Sondra - she's a great Mom to her kids. Some of the things I love this week are:
Riding in the car down a country road (going to Colorado this week for work)
Flannel Sheets
Little pink buds on the Peach Tree (a cousin recently added a new blossom to the family tree - Trevor Nathanial Heaps born 2-20-08)
New buds on the peach tree in our yard
A puppy trying to get attention when no one is paying attention to them
A new type salad on a menu
Phone calls to family members who are loved and who love me

Happy PATTY's Day

I just to take the time to say HaPpY BiRthDay to one of my younger sisters... Patty Yup - she was born on St. Patty's Day. I love her so much. She's an inspiration to us all. She's been working very hard at reshaping her image - litteraly. She's been dilligently riding her bike, going to the gym several times a week all just to be slimmer and more healthy. It's been working and I'm very proud of her. She's even participated in 2 road races on her bike and finished all 25+ miles. Such discipline! I love you sis...

Grandpa's window to his world

This picture of my Dad's Dad - James Patrick Browne on the day of his daughter Erin Rose's wedding June 1949/Seattle. The glasses were given to me last year out of some of his belongings. He died in Nov 1949. One of the lenses was missing so I had a new one put in to match the remaining one. The perscription was a single of a +150 strength. I love it when you have old things that were actually part of a picture. He must be smiling down on me cause I put this all together. I wish I would have known him.
